BBC Farms - About our farm

Bruce and I started farming in the late 1970s as a dairy operation and switched to a commercial beef herd in 1990. We bought our first registered Hereford bull from Gari-Alan Farm in 1995 and we learned to appreciate the great disposition and easy-keeping abilities of the Hereford breed. We decided to sell all of the commercial cattle and become a registered Hereford breeder.

Our children kept us busy over the years and now have grown, married and moved off of the farm, but still have a hand in the cattle business. Son Chris (wife, Brenda) is our computer wizard, son Scott (wife, Lisa) is a great “hands-on” helper whenever we need him and daughter Laura (husband, Ed), who live the closest to the farm, seem to always get the call to come “help with the chores” when we decide to take a trip or go to a Hereford function. And now our grandchildren, Matthew and Emily like to help around the farm too.

And over the years, through our membership in the Wisconsin Polled Hereford Association, we have met many wonderful Hereford breeders that have become good friends, as well as an abundant source of excellent Hereford genetics.

We continue to strive to perfect our herd through a planned breeding program as a total performance registered Hereford seed stock producer. Please view our herd sires to see the genetics we have developed and purchased in order to accomplish this plan.

Sincerely,

Bruce & Bonnie
